What is the total skills cap on AOS Defiance Shard?
The initial skills cap is 700.0 total skill points. But every 60 days you get +5 added to your cap, until you reach 720.
What is the stats cap on AOS Defiance Shard?
You start with 225 stat points cap, but they can be increased up to 250 with a stats-power-scroll from the Harrower
Does my account receive veteran rewards?
Yes. You can get a veteran reward each 60 days. Its start with dye tubs, statuettes and some clothes and ends with ethereal mounts and special dye tubs.
How many accounts can I create with Automatic Account creation?
You can create only 2 accounts on Defiance Network using the Automatic Account creation. However if you have more accounts, you can use them all, as long as you do not participate in events with more than 1 character.
Is it possible to use an ethereal mount without waiting 180 days?
Yes. By donating to DefianceUO you can receive an ethereal mount which can be used by accounts of any age. You can donate here: http://www.defianceuo.com/donate. Select the AOS section and then choose a category of items you are interesting in donating for.
You can also get such donation items by trading in-game with other players.
You can buy a random colored no age ethereal, from the Event Reward Vendor, by using copper bars but it will get deleted after 50 days.
What 3rd party programs can I use?
You are allowed to use Razor and EasyUO
Other useful programs you may want to try are:
Any form of speedhacks (including any programs which prioritize the UO client) are forbidden. You risk having your account banned if caught using such software.
Im bored, what can I do?
- Quests! The Cursed Cave is the best quest you can do with help of your friends warriors. There is info about all active quests in books in the Britain Library. More information you can find at the Stratics website.
- Duel Arena! You can show us what you are able to do in different kinds of duels with different rules.
- Chat on IRC Chat with others players of DefianceUO.
- Capture The Flag Game Wait for 18:30h GMT every day to capture flags for your team and try to get the highest scores of the shard.
- Skills! Train different skills with your friends, like Fishing, Cartography, etc...
- Explore! Explore all the map with help of Stratics website.
How many accounts can I own?
Up to two accounts are created automatically when you try to log in with an account name that is not yet taken. If you would like more accounts than that, you need to go to the Account Management section on the official defianceuo site.
Does the shard have Server Wars?
Yes. They start every Saturday at 9:00 GMT, and continue for 60mins. Reagent stones and resurrection gates are provided at Britain Bank and in Buccaneers Den. You will be notified with a small gump and messages.
Is Res-kill legal?
Yes. It's your own choice to resurrect or not when it is not safe.
What is Donation Membership?
Donation membership will allow a player to set certain items of clothing to a special hue. *Only donation status players may wear the colored items. Players with donation membership will also be able to set their ethereal mount to a small range of colors.
Donation status will also allow players into a special dungeon for donation members only.
All accounts which are part of the donation membership will not suffer from account decay or from house decay. This means you do not have to refresh your account/house as long as you have donation membership.
There are four different membership packages and their lengths are: 30 Days, 90 Days, 180 Days and 1 Year. You can also get a permanent membership ticket if you donate for one of our donation bundles.

AOS Starting Guide
- Download and install UO ML from Defianceuo.com
- You should not need to patch but in case use UOpatch.exe or uo.exe and make sure it's over 6.0.0 It should work fine.
- Download Razor Loader
- The address for Defiance's Network is: Server: dfi.defianceuo.com - Port: 2593
- If you're currently trying to install Razor and you get some errors, try to install: .NET Framework
- Your account gets created automatically the first time you try to login with an unique user name.
- And of course, use the http://uo.stratics.com/ website!
Technical information on caps and properties
FIGURES IN Brackets are the maximum attainable values with artifacts - i.e. there is no cap.

- Faster Cast Recovery 6 (12 for chivalry)

Misc Notes
- Luck effects are exponentially decreasing.
- Swing speed cap currently set at 1.25 swing per second.
- GM Inscription - 10% bonus SDI
- Stealth - Auto hide, must walk and wear leather or lower (unless you have more than 100 skill)
- Armor Ignore special move currently capped at 45 HP damage.
- Paralyzing blow effect is nullified if the target receives damage. Effect lasts for 3 seconds. Also a single target will "resist paralysis" if stun is used on it more than once in 10 sec.
- Two-Handed weapons have automatically 5% Hit Chance Increase and Defense Chance Increase when wielded.

What is the chance to get an artifact from a mini-boss with 0 luck?
1% (the chance will improve with a higher luck level, near double at ~1000 luck)
What is the chance to get an artifact from the Dark Father with 0 luck
10% (again, the chance will improve with a higher luck level, 3% higher at ~1200 luck)
What determines the chance to get an artifact if you have a party of i.e. 3 people? Is it purely damage related? Do healers get a chance based on how much hp they heal people/pets that are attacking (stratics says they should)? Or is it split evenly to the members of the party regardless of damage dealt/healing?
The chance of getting an artifact will be for one of the top 16 damagers (totally random)
If it's split, how does a split happen? If 3 people in a party kill a DF, do they all have the same chance of getting an artifact as if 1 person soloed the DF? So say the chance with 1 person is 2%, is the chance for each person in a party of three 2/3%?
No, first a random for the player in question then the arty chance for that person is calculated.
Can more than one person in a party get an artifact at the same time when they kill the DF?
No.
If there are only 3 people in a party and 2 people do 99% damage and the third does 1%, is the third guy still counted as one of the 16?

He is not considered as a possible person to receive an arty. Because he did not do enough damage. First everyone that did damage are noted. Than the one that did most total damage is taken out. everyone that did at least 1/16th damage of what the top damager did, has a chance for the arty. Thus there can be a maximum of 16 players that have the chance but are mostly less.
Here one player did did at least 49.5% damage. 1/16*49.5 = 3.1%. Since one percent is less than that he will have no chance, however if he did 3.2% of the damage he would have a chance for it.
I assume The Plague Quest boss is identical to Dark Father with respect to artifact chance?
No, you have wrong. 3 - 6% chance depending on your luck.
