Unlike skill balls on DFI AOS server, all skill balls on UOR (no matter it is from donation or handout) will never expire. If you put it somewhere safe, it will stay there forever. However, now when skillballs are handed out during a Super Sunday they will decay in twenty four hours.

Skill ball handout once a while on
- Super sunday (Not all sundays)
- New player welcome day (Not too often, when there is one, it will be announced)
- Large number of online players is required (e.g. stress test a new server) (Rare)
- After long server outage (Rare)
When there is a handout, usually the following applys
- Happens at a random time, a wide time range will normally announced(e.g. Sunday evening)
- All online character will receive one
- Not counting IP address (You can have 1000 account online if your machine allow you to do so)
- No skill required (You don't have to have be a 7xGM character)
- You will receive it no matter where are you (e.g. in a dungeon)
- Dead character will receive it and it will appear in your bag after resurrection (Not advisable)
- MOST IMPORTANT: They are steal-able, therefore, try to stay somewhere safe (e.g. in a locked house, don't go/stay at Britain bank, chance of it getting stolen is 99.99%)

Unlimited (Blue) can boost any skill

Limited (Gray) can only boost none-crafting skills AND inscribe So you cannot boost:
- Taming.
- Blacksmith.
- Tailoring.
- Removetrap.
- Provocation.
They come in shapes from +1 to +50, and you can only use it to get 100.0 maximum in one skill, however if You have, lets say 75.0 alchemy and 25.0 swordsmanship and you want GM alchemy, you can point swordsmanship down, use an unlimited skillball (blue) worth 25, or many worth a total of 25, to get it to GM and swords will be 0. You can also take it to any other number that's lower than GM of course, but would probably be worthless.
Even if you use a blacksmith /tailoring powerscroll (+5,+10+15+20) you can only skillball up to 100.0, not over, you will have to train 100.0>Wanted skill.

These skill ball are Veteran Return system reward for return veteran, who's account age is more then 400 days and didn't login the account for a long time.
They are work the same as limited skill ball, Ie, you can't use it to gain hard skills.. e.g. Taming.
Now from the Donation site you can buy Unlimited 7x GM skill and a 225 stat ball.
[edit] Additional Notes
Skillballs will not raise in the following circumstances. The amount of the skillball will put you over the skillcap or and very similar the amount of the skillball will put you over 100 in a certain skill.
Example One: Player 1 has a plus 50 donation skillball and is a has 700 points in eight skills. He tries to use a plus fifty donation skillball to gm wrestling which is at fifty. This will ot work and staff will most likely get a page about it.
Example two: player 2 is no where near the skillcap and has 90.3 taming. He tries to use a plus ten skillball to gm taming. This will not work as it would put him at 100.3 taming which you cannot have. Player 2 must find a way to lose the .3 points or simply finish the training for taming.
