[edit] How do you open a trade window?
Just drag and drop item u want to trade on the character you want to trade with. If u trade some expensive item, use a bandage or some other useless item to open the trade window and then put the the item you want to trade inside the window.
[edit] How to set up a vendor and get people to find him?
First off you require a house. You must set the house to PUBLIC (only the owning character can do this). This will mean that your front doors will be unlocked and cannot be locked until you make the house private again, meaning everyone can enter public houses.
Secondly you must go and buy a Contract of Employment. You can buy these from NPC innkeepers.
Now head back to your public house and go stand on the spot where you wish your vendor will stand and double click the deed. A vendor will appear and when you double click the vendor, you will get a menu where you can change his/her appearance and do other mods.
Keep in mind, the character that uses the Contract of Employment will be the only owner of the vendor, your other characters can not access the vendor owner menu.
To sell items, the owner must drag an item into the vendors bag and set the prize.
To get people at your shop, either place your house (shop) in a crowded area or when your shop is in a less-crowded area you can advertise by either gate to your shop during prime-time at West Britain Bank (Say you are gating to your shop, or else no one will enter your gate). Or you could also mark a lot of runes to your shop and drop these at various places (graveyard, banks, magic shops or even better; at other player shops).
To collect the gold that your vendor has acquired through the sale of your items, you need to say "VendorsName collect" near the vendor. It will ask you how much gold of what he is holding has to transfer to your bank. Say the amount you want to transfer to your bank.

Watch carefully how many earth days he will stay, and also watch closely; if you put more expensive items on him, he'll ask for more cash per day if he doesn't get payed soon enough, he will DISAPPEARS with ALL your stuff and cash.. ouch. Note that GMs cannot retrieve lost items.

[edit] How to avoid stat loss
Simple really, just don not resurrect if you die with more than 4 Short Term murder counts.
You can check your murder counts by type "I must consider my sins" in game.
If you do, you will go into the dreaded stat loss, losing 5 points in each stat(Strength, Intellect and Dexterity) AND 5 points in each skill(mage med etc etc) which will need to be trained to recover them. So, if you die with more than 4 short term murder counts it would be wise to avoid resurrecting until your short term murder counts go down.

Ctrl Right Click will make you follow someone
press and hold Ctrl and Shift to bring up names of all the surrounding people and items.
